07/10/08 - How to pull up HHBoard if you are cached to the old one

If you see the old Hip hop is us skin, then your dns is cached to the old server. So to help out any of those that want to get on the new server without waiting for your dns to update, here is how you do it.

To give these instructions to another member that can't view this board give them this link:

There is 2 methods:

Method 1)
(make sure to close browsers before you do this)

Open up command prompt, in Vista just do a quick search and right click "Run as administrator"

type: ipconfig /flushdns

This will update your dns....try opening up hhboard.com if you see the new skin you are on the right one.

Method 2) ONLY DO THIS TEMPORARILY

This one is basically telling your computer to connect a certain ip to a domain.

open up:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc

open the file hosts in notepad

scroll down and add this:

216.12.223.88 www.hhboard.com
216.12.223.88 hhboard.com

Method 2 will definitely work but you want to try and do method 1

thx i used a proxy and saw this so i tested and it works
