08/06/07 - Dirty South: David Banner's Telling The Greatest Story In The Last 3 Years

Aight yall time for some more dirty south talk, I want to get into David Banner's latest comment about his album, it definetely got my attention.

David Banner recently said that his upcoming album “The Greatest Story Ever Told” is the best rap album in the last three years. Now I can believe in Banner dropping a good album, he’s definitely capable of that. But I doubt he can drop the best album of the year, let alone of the last 3 years. It would mean he’s topping both Kanye albums, Lupe’s Food & Liquor, T.I.’s King, Roots’ Game Theory, I’ll even throw in Game’s Documentary and there’s many more. Does anyone really believe Banner’s capable of doing that?

His last album, Certified, was an o.k. album at best. Nothing really memorable about it except “Play,” which was pretty much “The Whisper Song” part 2. His 2 albums before that, with the exception of Like A Pimp were piles of ‘meh’ although I do have to give an honourable mention to The Christmas Song on MTA2.

But he’s coming out of the gate with a banger in “9mm” (or Speaker as it’s been changed to for T.V., never saw 9mm being censored into Speaker coming but anyway). If he has more tracks like this stashed away Banner will, if nothing else, drop the best album of his career.

"The Greatest Story Ever Told" is scheduled to drop in the Fall.

Great blog yo, I think Banner can make an excellent album but I don`t know bout the last in 3 years, he got alot to top and no one so far, in my opinion, has topped Lupe`s album.

However he does that potential to stand among the ranks as one of the greatest albums in the last 3 years... but no one will care unless he got some super marketing plan.

yeah I like David banner, he aight. I think the newest song I heard from him is on Nyce mixtape. I didnt realized that 9mm was his single, lol. 9mm (Speaker) is produced by david Banner, and it features (featuring Akon, Lil' Wayne & Snoop Dogg) got damn, talk about features, lol. his new single aight, to me.

hmm....."The Greatest Story Ever Told" lol. I kinda see why Saigon is mad, lmao.

I wonder why david banner resigned off the Rock The Bells Tour, it would of been good promotion for his new album.

and to answer your question I think David Banner is capable of making a Good album, but i dont think anyone will listen to it. he dope with the producing skills. Great blog, homie. keep it up

yeah i feel what u sayin homie.........that k.o. remix with NYCE was dope as fuck, and banner got sum good tracks and good skills but best album in 3 years.......i think not......prob a good album......maybe even great, but the best in three years?? this man is trippin..........of course everyone thinks they the best nowadays......look at dj khaled.......lol....or maybe hurricane "the lego man" game.........
