Stat Quo’s debut album Stalanta has been pushed back ye again. Not that anyone in their right mind thought it was actually dropping on August 28th but it was finally announced through the press that it will now be released in October. Call me pessimistic if you want, but I would be shocked if this album came out before the end of the year.

If I remember correctly Stat signed to Shady/Aftermath in 2004 (I could be wrong, but I think that’s when it was) and we have yet to see any major developments in his album. There’s been a leaked track here and there but nothing of substance to really make us believe Stalanta is coming.

Personally I’d rather see Ca$his drop before. He seems to have a lot of potential and The County Hound EP was banging.

This is nothing new however; Shady artists always seem to get pushed aside for whatever reason. I don‘t get why, it’s not like they have a track record of flops. Other than Obie’s very poorly marketed Second Round’s On Me all Shady releases have gone at least one-time platinum. So why do they keep getting pushed back? Maybe it’s a commitment to making a great product, but they could spend a decade in the studio and I doubt Stat can come with a classic. Not to hate on him too much but I just never saw anything great in him, maybe the album will surprise me though.

In the end I hope the album does drop in October, or at least by the end of this year, I’ll give it a listen, like I said, maybe it will surprise me. But if nothing else, dropping Stalanta will open the door for Ca$his to make his debut.

I think he was signed in 03. But Stat Quo is dope he just dosen't have the buzz to release an album cuzz it a more than likely flop. I remember in 05 he had a video on 106 and Park for Statlanta as his 1st single lol. But Billion Bucks was dope and if they woulda marketed that song as a single he couald dropped wit buzz but Aftermath or anywhere onInterscope now days seems like a definate no no. Every rapper on a Universl label seems tobe moving to Atlantic now.

But I think it'll drop before Spider Loc, GAGE, Bishop Lamont, Hot Rod, Bobby Creekwater and Cashis. They'll all drop in Nevuary cuzz none of them have very big buzz but at leat Stat got somewhat of a buzz.

personally I dont get why a record label dont put out an album every two or three months.... I mean that what there here for right???

I'm feelin' Stat, I think he's got an interesting tone and he's entertaining as fuck. But it's obvious he's gonna flop. Unless he scraps "Here We Go" (which's gonna be close to half a year old by the time the video leaks) and the godawful "We Get Higher" I don't see this album doin' much better than Obie's. Personally, I think he should either put out "The Way Shit Be" with Scarface and Dr. Dre or "All Hood" with Nikki Grier. Maybe the autobiography record "Stat Quo." I haven't actually heard any of the aforementioned, but from what I've heard about 'em, they sound promising.

Stat always talks about goin' against the grain and doin' shit his own way, but look at the songs that've leaked - "Billion Bucks," "Get Low," "Like Dat," "Here We Go," and "G.R.I.T.S." What distinguishes any of these records from anything else on MTV right now? Dude needs to stop holdin' back and cut out the faux-crunk shit and failed crossover songs. May as well go out knowin' you put out the best possible material you could make.

As for Cashis, I thought The County Hound EP was garbage. His only decent performance was on "We Ride For Shady." Other'n that, dude is just another thug rapper.

My guess is, late October, early November. But I'm starting to doubt it's even comin' out this year. As for whether Statlanta's gonna be a good album or not, what I've heard about the album so far has been interesting. There's some songs that I'm really curious about such as "The Way It Be" with Scarface and Dr. Dre, "30 Minutes," and "Finger to the Sky" but we'll see.

yea, signing with Dre will probably almost guarantee you a hot album but youre gonna have to wait a long ass time to drop
