Director JOHN SINGLETON is confident he can turn DMX's flailing career around if only the rapper would get in touch.
The filmmaker was one of the first to bring hip-hop stars to the big screen, casting Ice Cube in the critically acclaimed Boyz N Da Hood in 1991, and 2Pac in 1993's Poetic Justice.
And Singleton believes the Party Up (Up In Here) MC can achieve similar success in his budding acting career.
He tells XXL magazine, "I think I can bring DMX back.
"He's got a flavour about him. He's just had a lot of difficulty, but he could shine again on the screen.
"Most rappers are actors. They're not really living the life they're portraying. It's about posturing. It's a ghetto fantasy world." DMX, real name Earl Simmons, has been in and out of trouble with the U.S.
authorities since 1999, and recently (Aug07) hit the headlines after 12 distressed and undernourished dogs were discovered at his Arizona home.
