When did you start rapping? I started rapping when I was 15. I was a big fan of artist like Ice cube, N.W.A, Snoop Dogg, MC Eiht, and DJ Quik. They were a big influence on me growing up. I was going through the same stuff they would rap about, then I realized I could tell my own unique story the same way they did. I hated school, so my parents would always make me stay in my room for having bad grades. I would turn on my Lench Mob tape and write to the instrumental at the end of the tape. Then I would go to parties, and perform it in front of people to get a reaction. Once I started building up a name for being a good rapper, everyone wanted me to do songs with them or produce there material. Where do you live now? I am from the United States (Westcoast). The scene out west is great. We are in a position to bring the Westcoast back to where it was in the 90's. There is a lot of Unity between Gangs, which makes the music a lot stronger. And the westcoast has a lot of southern influence now, so we're 10 times better than we already were. I stay on the Eastcoast right now, but you can hear artist Like E-40 and Snoop Dogg, and Daz Dillinger from out west on the NYC radio stations. It's a great feeling. I live in the New York City area now. I have learned a lot more about hip-hop culture since I moved to New York. I feel like a more well-rounded rap artist. Whats your relationship with Tha Dogg Pound? My relationship with the Dogg Pound is very good. I am part of the Dogg Pound Nation Clique which is a movement started by Daz, Snoop, and Kurupt for artist outside of California. Daz will be hosting a new mixtape I am putting out, and Snoop Dogg was distributing my latest album on the Snoop Dogg myspace website for a while. Snoop also gave me and my record label a shout-out on his site, along with JT The Bigga Figga. Me, Daz, Kurupt, and Bigg A have met in person to show support, and go over ideas. And they have introduced me to producers, and online opportunities to help my Indie Label grow. The Dogg Pound are like my big brothers in the Music Industry. Can we expect to see you work with Daz, Kurupt or Snoop in the future? Yes, I will definitely be working with Daz, Kurupt, and Snoop in the future. You can check out a song I did called "Couple of Licks" ft. Snoop Dogg on my myspace site www.myspace.com/fpacrecords It's hot! Daz, and I have talked about putting out a mixtape together. And Kurupt and I will definitely have more time to collaborate in the future. Be on the look out for that. It will be monumental!!! How do you see Hip-Hop at the moment? I see hip-hop the way I always have. I love hip-hop. I want to see hip-hop grow, and get to a point to where it's studied in Universities around the world. Hip-hop demands respect. It teaches people to demand respect, and Hip-hop also teaches the world about african culture. We all have a little bit of hip-hop in us. The thing that I don't like is for those people who are screaming out that "Hip-Hop is dead". I understand what that message was attempting to say. But to those who only see words, It sends a very derogatory message. What has been your biggest achievement in Hip-Hop? One of my biggest achievements in hip-hop was getting a song into rotation on BBC Radio. My song "Indian Girl" was played on the Bobby Friction and Nihal show a few weeks in a row. That was big. Also, recently I had a cd release party at BLVD in New York City for my new cd Thug Passion:The Under Dogg. BLVD was the same place Diddy did a casting call for Making of the Band 4. Very classy spot. About 1000-1200 people showed up to show love. Tell us about your new CD? Thug Passion: The Under Dogg is one of the best hip-hop albums of 2007. Not only will people have great songs to vibe to, but they will always be surprised by the lyrical content. Not only will die hard lyricist be shocked by my wordplay, but I have great hooks, and I make great songs that you can play over and over and never get sick of. I believe in creating classic hip-hop cd's, so that's what anyone can expect from a Lix CD. You can compare my CD to any of your favorite artist, and you will probably listen to my CD more. Can you buy it on line? Yes, you can purchase any of my cd's at: www.myspace.com/fpacrecords www.myspace.com/fpackokujin and www.myspace.com/alldesiislix Everyone should have a copy in their collection, and the other cd's that we have for sale as well. How you finding the My Space revolution? I think Myspace is a great networking tool. I think a lot of people take Myspace as a joke though. Maybe if there were less people who use it just for a means of poularity, it would probably be better, but I wouldn't change too much about myspace. Its great. I don't know how we lived this long without it. Is there anyone you wanna shout out? Yes, I would like to shout out my mom, and dad for their support. The Dogg Pound, Daz, Kurupt, Snoop Dogg, and JT The Bigga Figga. Zodiac, Lyon, F-Pac Records LLC, Chink, Shakti, Mun, and Riz at Tribe Studios, Kraze, LT Productions. Also, to my new live band, Gene, Jimmy, Seth. Dev Laree, Deez, and DDG Entertainment. DJ Vlad. Billy Roadz, Gonja and the Wolfpacc,Chucc Tayla Bazil, Poppa,Imani, Ianthe', Lesley St. John, Sandboxtv.com., Rago Magazine, Park Street PR, and the entire Hip-hop community!
