I still find it hard to believe that Eminem didn’t strike the acting iron while he was hot (especially considering his comrade, 50 Cent, took whatever recognition he got for his debut “Get Rich or Die’ Trying” and then throw himself at any producer willing to take him on). The flaxen artiste got reasonably good reviews for his performance in the semi-autobiography “8 Mile”, yet ostensibly decided to call it a day after only one movie.

Looks like the rapper has had a change of heart.

Eminem has signed with ICM, who plan on milking his mug on the big screen. He has already been offered $10 million bucks to play a role in Doug Liman’s “Jumper”, with Samuel L.Jackson, but looks set to spurn that in favour of a contemporary remake of the 1950s TV Western "Have Gun Will Travel," with Eminem hoping to play professional gunslinger Palladin.

For those without a subscription to FOX CLASSICS, “Travel” followed the adventures of Paladin, a gentleman-turned-gunfighter (played by Richard Boone on television, and by John Dehner on radio), who preferred to settle problems without violence, yet, when forced to fight, excelled. He dressed in black, used calling cards and wore a holster that carried characteristic chess knight emblems, and carried a derringer under his belt.

According to reports that surfaced earlier this year, the new “Travel” – which Eminem is also going to record music for – will be set in the rapper’s hometown of Detroit.
