Outerspace - Blood Brothers

Outerspace used the Torture Papers LP as a way of announcing their return to the rap game just like Jedi Mind Tricks did in 2006. While the iron was still hot they came and dropped their second* group album in September. Fans of OuterSpace all knew what to expect months before the album was even complete, the big question however is - did it live up to their expectations.

As far as rap duos go you would be hard pressed to find a more perfect match than Planetery and Crypt The Warchild. Planetary's bouncy, energetic flow is the perfect compliment to the clever word play of Crypt, the pair's chemistry has been the foundation of the group for years. This chemistry is key to this album as well and neither of the two let their loyal fans down on this release.

Hardcore AOTP fans may be slighty confused and worried by the sight of guest apperances from Royce Da 5'9 and D-Block's Sheek Louch and many notables absences from their own camp, could this be an effort by Q.D's Finest to make a grab at mainstream sucuess by counting on 2 better known rappers to back them up ? Of course not, OuterSpace dont get down like that, don't think for a second that they are selling out.

Overall a very solid album with tracks to suit any mood such as the retrospective Hustle & Flow produced by 7L, the troubles of life that anyone can relate to documented in Grown A** Man or the hard hitting Brute Force 2 which is lead by fantastic guitar chord and accompanied by Vinnie Paz.

A very solid release filled with great beats, stunning word play, an electric flow and highly inmpressive (but suprising) guest spots. You can't help but feeling that there is something missing when you arrive at the end of the CD though, maybe a longer release should be the order of the day when Planetary and Crypt next hit the studio. Q.D's Finest cementing their place at the top of the game with a solid sophmore.

A-

*Please note -I'm not counting Jedi Mind Tricks Presents : Outerspace
