![]() Killarmy was one the first groups to come out of the Wu camp in 1996 with their debut album Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars. The six men crew introduced the masses to a new militant style in hip-hop. Then in 1998 they dropped their sophomore effort Dirty Weaponry and finally on September 11th 2001 they released the controversial Fair, Love and War. All three albums were praised by the fans and the critics, but unfortunately some internal problems within the group prevented the group from working together again. Not wanting to sit back and let his talent go to waste Dom Pachino decided to take matter into his own hands. In a little more than 2 years he put out three underground highly sort after albums, Tera Iz Him, Unreleased, Domination and strings of side projects and compilations on his own label Napalm Recordings. With last years Rice & Beanz still buzzing in the streets, a lot have happened in P's life, he has reunited with his long time partner and Killarmy brother 9th Prince, his Napalm label is constantly expanding into different ventures and forums, prospect of a new Killarmy album looks very promising and even a proposed collabo album between him and Shyheim, it is evident P is still the hardest working talented man in the game. Before jetting off to Brazil for a tour, P sits down with Wu-International again to talk about his new album Power Rulez (dropping November 11th), Killarmy, his relationship with Wu-Tang, Napalm and everything else that the fans have been eager to know. Enjoy!! Wu-Int would like to say thanks first and foremost for agreeing to do this and taking the time to answer these questions, highly appreciated, and will also point out that nothing will be altered, edited or changed when this is published online. Wu-International: Hello P, how are things your end? Dom Pachino: Looking good Wu-International: Are you still the hardest working man in the game? Dom Pachino: You already know they will bare witness in 09 for sure! Wu-International: It seems that your artistic output is so prolific. What drives you? Dom Pachino: Success and my kids and my deep love for the art. Wu-International: Could you describe your process for creating music? How does a piece start for you? Dom Pachino: Just a thought that I plant in a beat to grow and blossom into a song Wu-International: Albums /side-projects from you have been coming out like an average of every 6 months since 2006, after Rice & Beans, you seem to have taken more time to complete Power Rulez, any particular reason for this? Dom Pachino: Had to build anticipation plus it seems some fans weren't appreciating the food so I figure I let them starve a bit, they were thinking everything I drop is an album but they were just projects to keep them fed they was talking bout the quality of the projects but there in mixtape format. Who's spending money on mastering mixtapes? but other then that POWER RULEZ is a master piece an that takes time. Wu-International: How does a PR terrorist project differ from a Dom P one and when can we expect a Terrorist project? Dom Pachino: Terrorist projects are dirtier to me! expect 1 in 09 some time. Wu-International: If you were to name your 2 favourite CDs what would they be? Dom Pachino: Tera Iz Him and Rice & Beanz. Wu-International: Tera Iz Him is a definitely a classic, how well was Rice ‘N’ Beanz received by the fans? Dom Pachino: Mixed but most loved it some people got it twisted due to the name but the shit was militant as fuck so you need to hear it. Never judge a book by its cover that album is a classic real talk it wasn't a reggaeton album. which some might have thought it was but it was 100% hip-hop. Wu-International: Power Rulez is dropping November 11th, how are you feeling about this project? Dom Pachino: POSITIVE THE MORE PEOPLE I REACH THE MORE REAL HIPHOP RETURES TO THE MASSES. Wu-International: What’s behind the title of the album? Dom Pachino: Well in the alphabet of the Nation of Islam, the letter (p) represents POWER and the letter (r) represents RULE or RULER and Puerto Ricans also get referred to as Power Rule, but ultimately it’s just the way things are weathered in politics, financially or street credibility POWER RULEZ. Wu-International: You have worked closely with Chambermusik in the past and this is coming out via Chambermusik/Koch now they got distributions, how do you feel about this? Dom Pachino: I feel it makes sense to further ourselves together in this joint venture with our work ethic combined it means mo money. Wu-International: Did you hand-pick all the songs for the album or was it done by Chambermusik? Dom Pachino: Well everything that’s done artistically that you see a NAPALM logo on is my work, that’s why you see produced mixed an arranged by myself. Wu-International: Good to see the likes of Dub Sonata and Sjawmeica on there, sick producers. Are there any song or songs that stand out for you on the album that you might want to tell us about right now? Dom Pachino: Fuk critic's super dope song also self explanatory and that’s a fact it breaks down my history and the current state of killarmy, also Warsindrome which I produced is my best production thus far. Wu-International: Why should fans go out and cop the new album? Dom Pachino: If they respect my work then this is some of my best work ever. Bottom line its real hip-hop. Wu-International: Album features the usual suspects like Shyheim, Crunch and more but surprisingly 9th Prince, how did the reunion happen to result in both of you working on songs again considering there were rumours you were both not on speaking terms? Dom Pachino: We are both grown men and we were best friends since 87, so it was time to put the past behind us and move on. Wu-International: Great to see a 9th and P collabo again, fans have been yearning for that, so how many songs have you both recorded together since the reunion? Dom Pachino: About 3 joints. Wu-International: Our last interview with you last year, you hinted the possibility of a killarmy album was very slim, does that still ring true and if not please give us any details of any planned Killarmy project? Dom Pachino: Can't answer at this time but killarmy is 4ever either way. Wu-International: How viable would a Killarmy album be without the presence of Killa Sin and Shogun who are not around right now? Dom Pachino: It would still be dope but of course I’d like them to be a part of it but we gotta keep it moving no 1 man's situation should affect the entire group. Wu-International: Hopefully 4th Disciple would also be involved? Dom Pachino: I don't see why not we always build Wu-International: That would be dope, hip-hop needs a Killarmy album right now with all the elements and players involved. Back to Napalm, do you still plan on putting out a project by Crunch Lo via your label as stated on our last interview? Dom Pachino: Yes and it’s almost complete. Wu-International: Cool, how does it feel to be CEO of Napalm and do you plan on expanding your current roster? Dom Pachino: I’m expanding but thru different aspect like film and clothing I’m putting out a hip-hop documentary with all major players on it. It will be big for Napalm and hip-hop too. Wu-International: NLZ used to be down with Napalm, what’s your current relationship with him? Dom Pachino: We really don't speak he decided to take his chances with Godmother Ent, but with napalm you can't play both sides of the fence but I wish him the best it's no hard feeling on my end. Wu-International: Life Of a Performer Part 2 was planned to come out last year, what’s the status of that release? Dom Pachino: It’s coming out second quarter 09. The hip-hop doc I was talking bout before will be coming out 1st. Wu-International: Also your planned clothing line Divino, how far are you to making that happen? Dom Pachino: Its still in development my designers are in place just want a bit more marketing money so we should be ready to launch summer 09. Wu-International: Why have you called it Divino? Dom Pachino: Divino mean DIVINE in Spanish which some people know me by. Wu-International: Fans still pair you and Shyheim as a possible duo or group, is that something both of you plan to do sometime soon? Dom Pachino: YEA that’s a good look for next year me and Shy is about to tour Brazil in November. POWER RULEZ TOUR BRAZIL. Wu-International: Shyheim recently called out Raekwon, a lot of artists from Staten Island and former Wu affiliates have recently taken shots at Wu and it’s members, we know you have voiced your dissatisfaction with a number of things in the past but never really made a diss record towards them, any particular reason why? Dom Pachino: I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WU-TANG just didn't like the way the biz was handled back in the days. Wu-International: That clears a lot of things, why do you think a lot of affiliates and Killa Beez such as yourself and others have tried to distance themselves from the Wu? Dom Pachino: IF YOU CAN'T EAT SOMEWHERE AND YOU'RE SMART YOU WILL EITHER TRY TO GO SOME WHERE ELSE OR CREATE YOUR OWN SUPPLY OF FOOD AND THAT'S WHAT I DID. NAPALM IS A TREE AN POWER RULEZ IS FRUIT. Wu-International: True Talk, while you are your own man and fully established in you r own rights, the fans are forever linking you as a Wu affiliate regardless of you liking it or not, what’s your take on this? Dom Pachino: A lot of fans are stuck in the past as an artist matures he wants to do new things, only true fans will respect that, but they can think what they want as long as they listen its all good with me. Wu-International: It’s expected as you share the same fan base really, would you say there are possibilities of you working with the likes of The RZA again? Dom Pachino: Anything is possible if the biz is right but it pretty far fetched. Wu-International: Remedy and RZA are said to be working on a new Killa Beez compilation like The Swarm and Sting, if you were approached would that be something you would consider contributing to? Dom Pachino: Sure I work for hire. Wu-International: Who would you diss if you had the opportunity to do so right now, anyone in music, movies and so on? Dom Pachino: I don't diss any1 unless they are affecting my pocket. Wu-International: Thanks for all the answers, so what’s next after Power Rulez? Dom Pachino: T2 the rebirth that’s Tera Iz Him part 2 for those who don't know, and then movies. Wu-International: Anything else you might want to add that has not been covered already? Dom Pachino: No you did a great job. Oh go out on November 11th and support real hip-hop, Power Rulez you will not regret it, peace and harmony. The 1st shall be last and the last shall be 1st. Wu-International: Definitely, thanks, any last words, shout outs, greetings etc? Dom Pachino: NAPALM stamp it in ya fucking neck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Thanks for everything.. PEACE! Wu-International: Peace!!! Have a great time in Brazil and looking forward to the album.
